What does it say about restaurant if you dine once at a restaurant and then go back 4 hours later for another meal? Must have made a good impression. Well that was my experience at Yardbird Las Vegas. While it was conveniently located in our hotel, the Venetian, the food, decor and service are what brought us back for seconds.
The mix of lounge seating in vintage, rustic-chic furniture and high top communal tables, made it the perfect setting for every meal period. It was not what you would expect from the flashiness of most Las Vegas restaurants and was actually a welcome break from the bright lights and opulence of the casinos. It was comfortable, welcoming and most of all the food was very satisfying.
The menu had a great selection of southern comfort dishes with a modern twist. The cocktails (not pictured here) were hand crafted and many were served in mason jars. They made you want to be sitting on a porch in the south on a hot day – the Blackberry Bourbon Lemonade was delicious!
We shared all the dishes on the large communal table – my favorite way to dine. The food was definitely heavy (artery clogging), but it was complex in flavor, creatively presented and delicious!
Not sure when I will be back in Las Vegas, but I am sure I will make it back to Yardbird when I do go!
Overall the shining stars were the “BLT”, Fried Chicken Biscuits, and the Pot of Pickles! It was a great spot for groups with its tall communal tables and sharable menu items.
